Efficient Congestion Control Utilizing Message Eavesdropping in Asynchronous Range-Based Localization

چکیده
implement a locating system that provides accurate results. However, a locating system utilizing asynchronous ranging generates a large number of messages that cause transmission delays or failures and degrades the system performance. This paper proposes a novel approach for efficient congestion control in an asynchronous rangebased locating system. The proposed method significantly reduces the number of messages generated during the reader discovery phase by eavesdropping on other transmissions and improves the efficiency of ranging by organizing the tags in a hierarchical fashion in the measurement phase. Our evaluation shows that the proposed method reduces the number of messages by 70% compared to the conventional method and significantly improves the success rate of ranging.

Asynchronous parallel computing can result in high message generation rates, thus triggering network congestion. This paper investigates the network congestion problem that can result from asynchronous parallel programs' high message generation rates. First, we characterize the communication requirements of a large class of supercomputing applications falling under the category of xed-point pro...

Mobile social networks (MSNs) are a special type of Delay tolerant networks (DTNs) in which mobile devices communicate opportunistically to each other. One of the most challenging issues in Mobile Social Networks (MSNs) is to design an efficient message forwarding scheme that has a high performance in terms of delivery ratio, latency and communication cost. There are two different approaches fo...

We show how to exploit side-channels to identify clients without eavesdropping on the communication to the server, and without relying on known, distinguishable traffic patterns. We present different attacks, utilizing different side-channels, for two scenarios: a fully offpath attack detecting TCP connections, and an attack detecting Tor connections by eavesdropping only on the clients. Our at...
